This video gave advice as to whether to pick a Mac "notebook" or a full desktop. The notebooks are light and portable, but unfortunately do not allow for as much upgrading (memory, RAM size, etc.) as the desktop. The need for portability is really the key to choosing the notebook (& choosing the bigger price tag). Desktops are much more appropriate for professional work, as they provide a larger screen and work station for nearly half the price.
